On the surface it's an original period radio but beneath the skin the digitally controlled power amplifier delivers 4 x 45 watts of output power. Its AM/FM stereo automotive grade receiver features noise blankers which eliminate ignition & alternator/dynamo noise while its onboard microprocessor intelligently monitors the speaker connections, stereo auxiliary inputs & sub woofer output in order to make such decisions as whether to enable or disable virtual balance, fader controls etc
This is all made possible by replacing the electronics in the original radio with modern digital electronics bringing any period radio up to today's standards with performance & reliability. The radio still looks completely original & all of the controls still function as originally intended but with the addition of 'virtual' controls which are accessed through clever software.
Bluetooth
For any radio that has undergone a digital conversion there is now the option of adding this Bluetooth facility. Operation is completely automatic. If you begin streaming music from a Bluetooth enabled MP3, smart phone etc the radio will mute & start playing the streaming audio. If a call comes in, the radio will again mute & allow you to take the call. When the call ends, the radio will return to its normal mode. With a remote mounted microphone & a push button interface which can perform such operations as next/previous, play/pause, accept/reject & mute, things couldn't be simpler.
